Penn State Football Star Declares for 2025 NFL Draft
It’s one of the most magical times of the year in college football; teams prepare for the College Football Playoff and bowl games, players enter the transfer portal, and stars declare for the NFL Draft. Penn State Football is experiencing all of it.
On Thursday, Penn State’s star safety Kevin Winston Jr. declared for the NFL Draft, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Winston suffered a season-ending injury in the Nittany Lions’ Week Two win against Bowling Green. Losing him was a severe blow to the defense, as he led the team in tackles in 2023 and was one of the best safeties in the country.
Inside K.J. Winston Jr.’s NFL Draft Outlook
Before the 6-foot-2, 208-pound junior suffered a season-ending injury, there were hopes he would crack the first round. Now, we will have to wait and see how the draft process plays out. If Winston does fall, an NFL team will get a good player at a great value.
The 2024 Penn State season is going to go down as one of those years of what could’ve been if Winston hadn’t gotten injured so early, and there is a great chance he could’ve made a play against Ohio State or Oregon and brought home a win in one of those games.
