Whiteout Recruiting Roundup: Penn State Targets Love Whiteout Experience

Over the weekend, Penn State Football was able to host roughly 200 recruits throughout the class of 2026, 2027, 2028, and even younger. As I continue to gather feedback, stay tuned for the latest recruiting reactions.

Penn State Impresses Skill Position Recruits

Although the class of 2028 is just getting its start, Quarterback James Armstrong is a huge name to watch for Nittany Lion fans. The Pittsburgh native made it out to the Whiteout and raved about his experience.

“It was amazing.” The WPIAL star said. “Penn State is like no other school like I’ve seen or been to. The atmosphere was crazy, the fans were wild… The most surprising thing for me was how the coaches knew a lot about me… Like they knew about the game I played the day before.”

While the class of 2028 has a *very* long way to go until signing day, Armstrong anticipates Penn State being in his recruitment for the long haul. “Being from Pittsburgh, Penn State and Pitt are always going to be two of the top ones…”

Recent Virginia Tech de-commit, QB Ben Musser made the trip from Georgia to State College. Penn State has yet to offer Musser, but after talking to some sources, an offer may be coming at some point.

“It certainly lived up to the expectation.” Musser said about the Whiteout. “I couldn’t hear myself think in there, it was one of the craziest atmospheres I’ve ever experiences in my life… When they ran out to [Zombie Nation], that really caught me by surprise. I didn’t think it was going to be that loud.”

Musser said that the Nittany Lion staff discussed getting down to Georgia to watch one of his high school games. Penn State remains high on Musser’s list.

In-state Wideout, Cade Cooper also loved his visit.

“The atmosphere was dope.” Cooper said. “Even though they didn’t win the energy and Penn State football culture was definitely great to expierence.”

2027 Wide Receiver Isaiah Alvarez got up to State College for the game. The Whiteout left Alvarez feeling good about Penn State.

“The game was great to watch.” Alvarez noted. “It wasn’t the outcome I wanted but overall was great. The atmosphere was amazing”

Another thing that stuck out to Alvarez was the offense’s versatility. Penn State remains high on Alvarez’s list.

In-State Defenders Leave Penn State Feeling Good

One of the top Edge Rushers on Penn State’s 2027 board, Abraham Sesay was at the Whiteout. Sesay enjoyed his time in State College.

“The game was a great game.” Sesay told NittanyCentral. “Tough loss, but Oregon is a great program.”

“The atmosphere had me speechless. It’s truly as great as advertised and an experience that will be with me forever.” Sesay said the message he got from Penn State was “When I’m ready, their ready.”

Another Pennsylvania standout, Jelane Richardson is coming off the visit with a good feeling about Penn State.

“The game was phenomenal, I loved it.” Richardson described. “Something I love about Penn State is what their program is doing with there defensive backs.”

When asked if Penn State is his leader, Richardson acknowledged that they are. There is still a long way to go for Richardson, but he likes Penn State.

2027 Linemen Eye Nittany Lions

One of Penn State’s top OL targets, DMV native, Jaiden Lindsay spoke very highly of the Whiteout experience.

“It was crazy.” Lindsay said. “The game didn’t end the right way, bit the atmosphere was still insane.”

Another highly coveted Offensive Lineman, Cameron Wagner also echoed the same praises.

“Obviously, it was just a crazy environment.” Wagner said. “I could just feel the crowd in my chest… And then it was cool, walking by the student section and them seeing my recruiting tag and yelling ‘come to Penn State’, stuff like that. One dude asked for a picture, which was cool that he knew who I was.”

One of the most surprising things for Wagner was the amount of people. “I knew a ton of people obviously went into the stadium, but like there was so many people. Wagner said. “Us driving in… So many people outside of the stadium too… The most amount of tailgating.”

One under the radar prospect for Penn State is Ohio Defensive Tackle, Josh Fasbender. He left State College feeling good about the Nittany Lions.

“It was an awesome experience.” Fasbender said. “One thing that surprised me was the passion from the fans throughout the game. No matter the score they were up and loud.” Fasbender went on to say that Penn State is in a good place for him.

One of Penn State’s Offensive Line targets, Justyn Perez, was in attendance for the Whiteout. Perez was offered by Penn State this spring, and he loved the Whiteout.

“It was really great.” Perez said. “I liked the atmosphere, and I met a lot of coaches over there. It was really amazing how they treated us.”

Perez said “I didn’t know it was going to be that loud.” when asked about the raucous Whiteout crowd.

The Kentucky native is in the midst of a 4-1 season and after the season is over, Perez would like to announce a commitment to his school of choice.

2028 Prospects Like Penn State

Current Penn State Cornerback, Kenny Woseley, has a younger brother in the class of 2028, Kaleb Woseley. The younger Woseley enjoyed watching his brother’s college team play.

“It was a game I’ll never forget.” Woseley said. “The atmosphere was crazy. The fans were electric. [It] was definitely the best Penn State game I’ve been to.”

Woseley also spoke about the unique situation he is in with a brother on the team. “He’s always giving me advice and keeping me focused.” The younger Woseley said. “He always talks about me going there and playing with him for his last year.”

Another top tier 2028 prospect had a lot of praise for Penn State. Malvern Prep Edge Rusher, George Parkinson described his visit as “energetic”.

“When we got to Penn State, you could already tell the night was going to be really fun.” Parkinson said. “All the tailgates and energy hours before the game showed how great of a fan base Penn State has. Once we got out to the field for pregame, you could envision yourself at the school, warming up with the team. It was a really cool experience. The whole game had tons of energy and it the crazy amount of noise really stood out to me, as it was my first Whiteout game.”

Penn State is certainly high on Parkinson in the class of 2028 and he seems to like them too. ” I like Penn State because of its football history [and] culture.” Parkinson continued. “I really like the coaching staff and how they care about their players. I feel that they have really good development especially at my position . Love the fan base as well”

Time will tell how his recruitment plays out, but George Parkinson is high on Penn State’s young 2028 board.

Another highly touted 2028 recruit, AJ Lopez loved what the Nittany Lions have to offer.

Lopez said, “The game was one of the best games I ever been to in any sport. To see #3 vs. #6 go down to the wire [in] 2 overtimes was worth even min.”

He also boasted about the academic side of things. “Penn State is a top 50 School in America.” Lopez said. “That’s big to me because I know besides football, my future will be bright to go study at a high level institution. I love the culture of the school and the culture of the Football program.”

The New Jersey prospect is one to keep circled in the up and coming class of 2028.
