Penn State Football Recruiting: 2027 WR Bryan Porter Eyes National Championship

Bergen Catholic standout Bryan Porter has a growing list of suitors in his young recruitment, and Penn State Football is certainly one of them.

The 6-foot sophomore from New Jersey is an explosive, playmaking receiver who made a statement in Bergen Catholic’s state championship win, scoring two touchdowns as a sophomore.

NittanyCentral recently spoke with Porter about his recruitment.

“Auburn, Ole Miss, Penn State,” Porter told NittanyCentral, were the schools showing the most interest. “I got [visits to] Temple, Syracuse, and Penn State.”

Porter confirmed that he will be in Happy Valley next Saturday, March 29.

“I like all of [the schools] right now,” Porter said.

He also shared what he’s looking for in a program:

“I want to have a good connection,” Porter explained. “And I want to have a coach that can develop me. I’m trying to win a National Championship too.”

Porter’s Connection With Penn State

Porter has built a strong relationship with Penn State’s coaching staff.

“I have a really good relationship with them. I speak to Coach Hagans [a lot],” Porter explained.

If the Porter name sounds familiar to Penn State fans, that’s because Bryan’s older brother, Quincy, was a sought-after recruit in the 2025 class. Ultimately, Quincy chose Ohio State, but his experience has helped prepare Bryan for his own recruitment process.

“Everything he went through,” Porter said. I was there too, so I got to witness it. So then when it was my turn, I know what to do and how I wanna do it…”

And when asked which Porter brother is the better player? Bryan didn’t hesitate.

“Uh, me.”

It sounds like there might be some friendly competition in the Porter household. Bryan Porter will be a recruit to watch in Penn State’s 2027 class.
