Will the Penn State LBU Tradition Continue on in the Class of 2027?

From Lavar Arrington to Abdul Carter, Penn State Football has one of the best Linebacker traditions in the nation.

Today, we will look at the Linebacker prospects in the class of 2027. The Nittany Lions have a wealth of in-state options as well as other elite prospects.

Pennsylvania Linebacker Prospects

Between Lavar Arrington, Dan Connor, Micah Parsons, and plenty of others, Penn State has had a lot of success with in-state Linebackers. The class of 2027 has a lot of talent that will look to carry on that tradition.

The first name worth mentioning is Gabriel Jenkins. Listed as a Linebacker on ON3, Jenkins has a lot of positional flexibility. I could see him playing Safety, Cornerback, or Linebacker at the next level.

Out of Pittsburgh, Jenkins has plenty of suitors. Pitt, West Virginia, Michigan State, and a few others are in the hunt for Jenkins. In my opinion, Jenkins seems like a great candidate to continue the Imani Christian Academy to Penn State pipeline.

Secondly, is Brandon Lockley. Out of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, Lockley is another guy that likely has position versatility. At 6 foot 1, 220 pounds Lockley has a lot of room to either grow into a Linebacker or possibly a Cornerback.

Lockley has offers from Tennessee, Syracuse, Duke, and others. The Keystone state product has been to State College many times and looks to be a priority for the Nittany Lions in 2027.

Another Philly native is Linebacker Zykee Scott. Out of LaSalle College High School, Scott is a high priority for Penn State. Scott has reciprocated that interest in the Nittany Lions as well. Additionally, Oregon and Tennessee are high on Scott’s list. Zykee Scott is a player that Nittany Lion fans should keep an eye on.

Can the LBU run Continue?

In addition to Scott, Lockley, and Jenkins being on Penn State’s radar, there are other top prospects to monitor.

Brayton Feister out of Ohio is a name worth bringing up. Feister’s offer sheet isn’t as impressive as others, but last I checked Penn State is involved. Feister said that he likes Penn State and there is a chance he could rise up some other team’s recruiting board. Keep Feister circled.

One final prospect on the radar is Virginia native, Noah Glover. Glover has an impressive list of teams involved with him. Schools like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Penn State are vying for Glover’s talent. Keep in mind, you can never rule out in state schools like Virginia Tech and Virginia. But at this stage, landing Glover would be a massive get for the Nittany Lions.

So, can Penn State Football keep up their legendary run of Linebackers? As of right now, they are off to a good start in the class of 2027 at Linebacker.
