Penn State Football vs. Ohio Betting Line, Odds, Injury Report, College Football Week 2 predictions

Penn State Football picked up a thrilling come from behind victory over Purdue in the regular season opener, and are set to return home against the Ohio Bobcats at noon on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022 inside Beaver Stadium.

The Nittany Lions (1-0) were left out of both the Associated Press Top-25, and Coaches Poll following the first week of the college football season, but a convincing victory in Week 2 could propel James Franklin’s team into the rankings.

Penn State Football (-24.5) vs. Ohio

Penn State Football enters Saturday’s Home opener as a 24.5-point favorite.

The Nittany Lions covered the spread last week against Purdue, and are 1-0 on the season. Ohio defeated Florida Atlantic as a six-point underdog and are 1-0 ATS this year.

Penn State Football is 12-6 ATS in their last 18 games.

Penn State Moneyline: -5000

Placing a $5,000 bet on Penn State Football to knock off Ohio, straight up on the moneyline, would pay $100.

The Nittany Lions are 5-1 All Time against the Bobcats, although they lost the last meeting in 2012.

Penn State Football vs. Ohio over/under: 54

The Nittany Lions and Bobcats both hit the over total in Week 1.

However, six of the last eight Penn State games have gone under, as well as six of their last seven home games total.

Ohio has hit the under in 7 of their last 10 games as well as their previous 5 road games.

Penn State Football vs. Ohio pick

I believe Penn State will cover the spread but beware as these type of games can get weird late.

I would lean away from picking the Nittany Lions to cover, unless you can get a line under 24 or possibly buying a point back toward 23.5 points.

The best pick of the week would be to take the under 54 total. Although both teams hit the over in week 1, trends dating back to last season says that this game has a great chance to go under.

Prediction: Penn State 41  Ohio 10

Big Ten Pick of The Week

Iowa St +3.5 over Iowa

I don’t see how the Hawkeyes can be favorites after the abysmal offensive performance last week, other than that they are at home.

The Hawkeyes have won the previous 6 matchups dating back to 2015 but expect the Cylclones to cover the 3.5 and possibly win outright.
