Summary

Both Aaron Nagao and Tyler Kasak got the job done in the consolation bracket. At this point in the NCAA’s, they just need to keep on winning and get more team points for Penn State.

And in the championship bracket, it was three matches down in the second round and so far so good.

Braeden Davis, Beau Bartlett, and Levi Haines move onto the quarterfinals, however they all got there in different ways.

Davis gave his counterpart a hard ride in the third period to close out a narrow 2-1 decision. Then looking at Beau Bartlett’s match, he was also locked up in a tight one. But he called “game” when he hit a cradle and pinned his opponent in the third period.

Levi Haines continued to cruise as he locked up his second straight technical fall and he also moves onto the quarterfinals.

At 165, Mitchell Mesenbrink kept his foot on the gas pedal and piled up the points again. And his 11-3 major decision punched his ticket to the quarterfinals.

Carter Starocci again found himself down after giving up a first period takedown, but he clawed his way back and did what he needed to do. And that’s survive and advance with a 5-3 decision win.

Bernie Truax and Aaron Brooks also move onto the quarterfinals. Truax pulled out a 4-2 decision and Brooks pinned his counterpart in the first period.

Greg Kerkvliet kept the pain train rolling with his 9-1 major decision win and the Nittany Lions were a perfect 10-0 in the second round. Tomorrow’s action will be must watch tv as each guy tries to move onto the semifinals and continue their run deep into the NCAA’s.
