NFL Draft 2025: Analyst Has Bold Tyler Warren Take

While Penn State prepares for the 2025 season, some former players prepare for the next step in their football careers.

The College Football All-Star games, the East vs. West Shrine Bowl, and the Senior Bowl have concluded, meaning we are in full draft season.

The Nittany Lions should have at least two players hear their names in the first round of April’s NFL Draft, with Edge Abdul Carter going somewhere in the first five picks and then tight end Tyler Warren shortly after.

Tight ends usually fall in the draft because of their positional value, with quarterbacks, offensive linemen, wide receivers, and defensive playmakers going high. Still, Warren is a prospect we might’ve never seen before.

Warren does everything on the offense, from blocking, receiving, and rushing, and was the most significant piece in the Penn State offense that made the College Football Playoff semifinals this year.

Like the rest of the NFL World, ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper is high on Warren and ranks him 10th on his Big Board, up three spots from his previous ranking.

“Warren is super versatile,” Kiper wrote for ESPN. “He can be used as a traditional in-line tight end, at H-back, at fullback, out of the slot, or lined up out wide. He’s a reliable pass catcher, and once the ball is in his hands, he can break free. Warren had 700 yards after the catch this season.

“He was incredible against USC in October, hauling in 17 catches for 224 yards and a TD. It tied for the most single-game catches by a tight end in FBS history.”

Whoever drafts Warren is getting a stud playmaker who will change the offense on day one.

Penn State will surely miss Warren next season, but seeing him play on Sundays will be fantastic.
