As the season creeps closer and closer, networks have been announcing more and more kickoff times for the 2024 college football season, including the upcoming Penn State Football slate.
Last week, Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported that Penn State’s season opener will be broadcast on FOX as week one’s Big Noon kickoff, the network’s top slot for the college football slate.
Monday, McMurphy followed up this report with NBC’s preferred primetime lineup for the network’s 7:30 p.m. slot.
Penn State was featured twice on the reported list, Penn State’s home game against Illinois on September 28 and Penn State’s trip to Camp Randall to face Wisconsin on October 26.
What Have We Learned About Possible Penn State Football White Out?
Over the past three seasons, Penn State Football has scheduled its infamous Whiteout game during a night primetime slot. If Penn State does not get another primetime night game on the schedule this season, Illinois may be the most logical option for the 2024 Whiteout.
Unfortunately for Penn State Football fans, the report also includes a preference for USC at Washington for NBC’s November 2 slot, meaning that the Nittany Lions‘ home game against the Buckeyes would likely not be in the night primetime slot.
This would mean that Ohio State would not face Penn State in the annual Whiteout treatment again this season.
If Fox has the option for the November 2 clash against the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions, the annual top 10 matchup would once again be slated for a noon kickoff.
