No. 6 Penn State Hockey faces off against Alaska Fairbanks, for a nonconference thanksgiving week special.
The puck drops on Tuesday and Wednesday in Pegula Ice Arena, marking the second series in a row, the roar zone will get to cheer on.
The Nittany Lions have played four conference opponents prior to this matchup, this included a tough stretch of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, and Michigan State.
Meanwhile, Alaska Fairbanks has only played the Nittany Lions twice, dating back to the 2019-2020 season, where they beat the PSU 4-0, following a 7-0 beat down by Penn State Hockey.

Series Prediction
Penn State Hockey looks to improve to 13-3 overall with a sweep against Alaska Fairbanks.
It will be very vital to keep the momentum going from the previous conference matchups, as early December will see more conference rivals in Ohio State and Notre Dame.
Overall, Penn State Hockey should use this matchup to rest Liam Souliere, letting Noah Grannan start in both games. If my prediction is correct, it would only be the backup goaltender’s third full start this season, so expect the Lions to come out with two high scoring wins.
Also, be on the lookout for Ryan Kirwan to get his scoring touch back. The sophomore forward started the season scorching, putting up five total points in the year’s first series against Canisius College. Kirwan has the luxury of playing with Kevin Wall and Ture Linden, two seniors leading the Nittany Lions in scoring with 11 points and 12 points respectively, putting him in prime goal-scoring positions often.
Prediction: Lions Sweep 2-0
