Penn State Football cornerback Joey Porter Jr. has the traits and NFL pedigree to be a top-10 selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, and is visiting a pair of NFC East teams this week.
According to multiple reports, Porter Jr. will visit the New York Giants on Monday, and the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday, ahead of the first-round of the NFL Draft that gets underway on Thursday, April 27 in Kansas City, where he’ll be in attendance.
Last season, Porter Jr. produced 27 total tackles with 11 pass breakups and one forced fumble, while rarely targeted by opposing quarterbacks.

How Penn State Football CB Joey Porter Jr. fits Giants
The New York Giants need secondary help. Desperately.
Following the departure of safety Julian Love to the Seattle Seahawks via free agency, on the heels of releasing cornerback James Bradberry last spring, New York is paper thin at cornerback.
Porter Jr.’s 6-foot-2 and 195-pound frame and length at the position could make him an ideal fit for defensive coordinator Wink Martindale’s scheme, that pressures cornerbacks because of the consistent pressure generated on opposing quarterbacks by sending extra blitzers.
Adoree’ Jackson is seemingly entrenched as one of the Giants’ starting corners, but only Cordale Flott and fellow former Nittany Lions corner Amani Oruwariye would stand in Porter Jr.’s way of an immedaite starting job as a rookie.
How Joey Porter Jr. fits Eagles
The Eagles boast one of the premier cornerback duos in the NFL, but Porter Jr. could round out the secondary and set Philadelphia up for sustained success beyond the 2023 campaign.
Darius Slay, and Bradberry, were the backbone of the Eagles’ secondary that helped power a Super Bowl run last season, but Porter Jr. could immediately push for a starting job from the slot this season. Additionally, Porter Jr. easily be viewed as one of Philadelphia’s cornerbacks of the future.
