No. 10 Penn State Football vs. Indiana Picks, Predictions for College Football Week 9

Penn State Football, Drew Allar

No. 10 Penn State Football, led by quarterback Drew Allar, running back Nick Singleton, and linebacker Abdul Carter aim to get its season back on track, following a disheartening loss to Ohio State when the Indiana Hoosiers arrive in Beaver Stadium for Saturday’s contest.

The Nittany Lions, knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten, by the Buckeyes, now must run the table and get some help, in order to have a meaningful chance at qualifying for the College Football Playoff.

But, those aspirations start with handling business against the Indiana Hoosiers in Week 9 of the college football season.

Here’s how our staff of reporters and analysts see Saturday’s game playing out:

Penn State gets the offense moving again at home after another disappointing outing on the road. Penn State’s defense continues its dominance.

Penn State starts slow after the loss to OSU and a noon start against a lesser opponent.

There’s probably some uneasy feelings in the stands early but Penn State’s talent eventually overwhelms an Indiana team that cannot move the ball.

Penn State 41 – Indiana 13

Chris Snyder, Senior Penn State Wrestling Reporter

Will Penn State Football score more than 12 points this week? Does Urban Meyer skip the team plane to hang out with people named Cayman? Exactly.

The Nittany Lions will for sure light up the scoreboard this week, but the biggest question is how many points the defense and special teams score.

Because, let’s face it, Allar hasn’t thrown for more than 209 yards since the opening game against West Virginia and he hasn’t surpassed 200 yards in each of the last four games.

The offensive unit is by no means efficient, the run game is erratic, and it doesn’t help when the coaching staff makes head-scratching calls for important down and distances. Thankfully Indiana stinks.

Penn State, noon kick off, after another brutal loss to the Buckeyes?

Sigh.

And, you just know they’ll open the playbook since they refused last week. It’s virtually irrelevant since to salvage the season, they have to beat Michigan, but they beat Indiana.

Penn State 38 – Indiana 10

Dave Malandra – Penn State Reporter

The scrutiny from last week, with the play calling on offense, rebounds this week as QB Drew Allar goes for 300 yards with three touchdowns as Penn State takes down Indiana.

Penn State 45 – Indiana 13
