NFL Analyst Has Bold NFL Combine Prediction for Chop Robinson
Penn State defensive end Chop Robinson has long been forecast as a first round talent for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, despite being slightly undersized for the position. Robinson has been eyed as a top draft prospect for over a year now because of his high motor and incredible quickness off the edge.
Ahead of this week’s NFL combine, CBS Sports’ Ryan Wilson picked Robinson as his “prospect that will erupt at the combine.”
In his pick, Wilson notes that Robinson has the highest motor out of any defensive end in the draft class.
“We haven ‘t talked a lot about Chop Robinson when discussing the edge rushers,” Wilson writes for CBS Sports. “But, even if he’s slightly undersized, he has the highest motor in this class. He’ll also test through the roof and solidify himself as a top-20 pick.”

Robinson, a Maryland transfer, was a standout at defensive end over the past two seasons for Penn State, racking up 17.5 tackles for a loss, 9.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries over 22 games for the Nittany Lions. In 2023, Robinson earned 2nd team preseason All-American honors and was named a third team All-Big ten player.
Last week, CBS’ Chris Trapasso named Robinson the 8th overall prospect in the upcoming draft. Robinson and the defensive linemen will take the field at the combine on Thursday, February 29th.
