There are still three rounds left in the 2024 NFL draft, but that did not stop Draft Kings Sportsbook from releasing odds for the number one pick in next year’s draft, with Penn State quarterback Drew Allar featured prominently.

With an entire season ahead before anyone is even eligible to declare for next year’s draft, Allar opened with the fourth-best odds to go #1 overall on Draft Kings Sportsbook.

The junior signal caller from Penn State sits at +850 odds to be the number one selection next April, behind only Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck, and Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers.

The Case For Drew Allar as a No. 1 NFL Draft Pick

In 2023, despite inconsistent wide receiver play and his offensive coordinator being fired mid-season, Drew Allar threw for 2,631 yards and 25 touchdowns and turned the ball over only four times.

His 25 touchdown passes tied for the Big Ten lead with Maryland’s Taulia Tagovialoa and his 12.5 touchdown to interception ratio ranked second in the nation behind only Oregon’s Bo Nix, who was selected 12th overall Thursday night.

At 6-foot-5 inches and 241 pounds, Allar’s size and strength projects well at the next level.

NFL Scouts, coaches, and executives will to see if Allar can be more consistently productive in Andy Kotelnicki’s offense in 2024 and whether he will declare for the 2025 NFL draft after the season.

The sky is the limit for the former five-star quarterback from Ohio, but Allar must raise his level of play week in and week out next season to be considered a first-round pick (or in the conversation for the first overall pick) after next season.
