In the trade, the Eagles get former first-round pick Dotson and a fifth-round pick from the Washington Commanders. In return, the Commanders receive a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks.

After being selected 16th overall by the Washington Commanders in the 2022 NFL draft, Dotson caught 84 passes for 1041 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Commanders over two seasons.

Dotson is entering the third year of his four-year $15.048 million rookie contract, which includes a fifth-year club option for 2026. On his rookie deal, Dotson has a cap hit of only $4.104 million in 2024 and $5.288 million in 2025.

Before entering the draft, Dotson was one of the best wide receivers in Penn State history, making 38 stats over his four-year career.

Dotson recorded 183 receptions for 2,757 yards and 25 touchdowns in four seasons, ranking him second all-time in receiving touchdowns and career receptions and fourth in receiving yards.

In Philadelphia, Dotson will join former Penn State standout running back Saquon Barkley who joined the team this offseason after six seasons with the New York Giants. Shortly after the trade, Penn State celebrated the return of Jahan Dotson the way the Nittany Lions did when Saquon returned to Pennsylvania using the motto “the best in PA…” stay in PA.
