The 2023 NFL season is now underway, and former Penn State Football star Micah Parsons is already up to his old tricks.
The Dallas Cowboys defensive end made his presence known early to New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones with a violent sack of the signal caller in the first quarter of the Sunday Night Football matchup.
On a 3rd and 10 from the Giants own 25 yard-line, Parsons took on the right guard on an interior blitz. Initially, the guard forced Parsons back, but the relentless defensive end would not be denied as his second push was no match for the guard, who Parsons easily beat.

With no one between him and Jones, Parsons quickly wrapped up the quarterback for a 10-yard loss, ending the Giants drive. The former 5-star recruit then did a bear crawl celebration in the endzone.
Parsons is coming off a monster 2022 season in which he recorded 13.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. He is on his way to recording three straight 13+ sack seasons to start his career.
Last season, Parsons finished second in Defensive Player of The Year voting to San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa. Performances like Parsons’ sack in Week 1 would go a long way towards closing that gap this season.
