Penn State Basketball G Jameel Brown Makes Transfer Portal Decision

The good news keeps rolling in for Penn State Basketball, and head coach Mike Rhoades.

Sophomore Jameel Brown has announced that he will not be transferring, and instead returning to Happy Valley, and the Nittany Lions.

Brown was a part of a 5-player freshman  class last season and saw limited time as a freshman appearing in just 14 games. Out of high school Brown was a high 3-star recruit out of Philadelphia ranking 143rd Nationally and 5th in Pennsylvania.

What Brown’s Return Means For Penn State Basketball

While Brown didn’t get to contribute much last season with all the veteran guards Penn State had, expect him to have a bigger role for Rhoades.

Brown will be crucial in providing depth to what is currently a small roster and his 6-4 frame will fit well in the defensive style of basketball will be playing.

This brings Penn State Basketball up to 5 scholarship players with Demetrius Lilley, Kanye Clary and Brown all staying at PSU, as well as transfers Ace Baldwin and Nick Kern making their way from VCU.

Rhoades and his staff have been making some noise in the portal and on the recruiting trail so expect to hear some big news within the next month.
