Penn State Basketball opens the 2023 NCAA Tournament as the No. 10 seed in the Midwest Region, set to take on No. 7 Texas A&M at 9:55 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 on TBS.
Led by head coach Micah Shrewsberry, senior guard Jalen Pickett, and senior forward Seth Lundy, the Nittany Lions came one game shy of winning the Big Ten Conference Tournament, falling to Purdue 67-65 in the conference final.
This season marks the first trip to the NCAA Tournament for Penn State since 2011.
Despite his name being linked to high profile jobs such as the Notre Dame and Georgetown vacancies, Shrewsberry guided Penn State Basketball to wins in 8 of the final 10 games to close out the season.
Thursday night marks the first ever meeting between the Nittany Lions and Aggies, with the winner slated to take on Texas vs. Colgate.
