Penn State is among the elite as one of the five teams from the Big Ten Conference featured in the top-25 rankings. Including incoming Big Ten Conference members for the 2024 season, USC and Washington, there were five teams from the conference inside the poll’s top-10.

This notable achievement marks the Nittany Lions‘ highest ranking since 2020, when they were also positioned at number seven.

Under head coach James Franklin, this is the fourth time Penn State has entered the AP preseason poll within the top ten.
