The Penn State Football White Out game is one of the greatest spectacles in all of sports, and this season’s game will take place against a Big Ten Conference foe, the program announced on May 15.
This season, the Penn State Football White Out will take place on Sept. 23 against the Iowa Hawkeyes, in a nationally televised 8 p.m. kickoff on CBS inside Beaver Stadium.

James Franklin and the Nittany Lions boast potentially the most talented roster of the head coach’s 10-year tenure in Happy Valley, and enter the 2023 campaign with legitimate College Football Playoff aspirations.
Led by former five-star quarterback Drew Allar, arguably the greatest running back duo in program history, true sophomores Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen, Penn State should be in the mix to bring home the Big Ten Conference Championship, and more this fall.
Penn State Football has won each of the past two White Out games, toppling Auburn in 2021, and the Minnesota Golden Gophers in 2022.
Some had believed the season opener against West Virginia would be the White Out this season, but that game has been tabbed as the program’s “helmet stripe” game, instead, and will be the inaugural game of NBC’s coverage of Big Ten Football.
