With Jaxon Smolik injured for the spring, freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer has stepped up as Penn State’s QB3.
James Franklin said last week that Grunkemeyer is “really flashing.”

Ethan Grunkemeyer Grade: B-
The true freshman was thrust into the QB3 role after an injury to Jaxon Smolik this spring.
The former four-star quarterback from Ohio showed a quick release and plenty of zip on the ball, but also showed that he is still a young player developing in the college game. Grunkemeyer finished the game with about 11 yards on 4 completions and had an interception into the hands of Penn State defensive end Amin Vanover.
