During the 2022 season, Joey Porter Jr started nine games at cornerback which saw him have 26 tackles (21 solo), 11 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.
Those inside the NFL have high expectations for Porter, with some believing he will come off the board early in the first-round next April.
“Joey Porter Jr. is a big-time prospect and he’ll definitely be a first-round pick,” an NFC personnel executive told Heavy NFL Insider Matt Lombardo. “He’s legit. He’s easily Penn State’s best NFL prospect, and a starting caliber NFL corner.”
Porter Jr.’s decision comes one day after Penn State Football offensive tackle, and projected top-15 draft pick Olu Fashanu announced that he would be returning to the program for the 2023 campaign.
