Penn State Football landed a massive commitment from the transfer portal, when WR Dante Cephas chose the Nittany Lions Sunday night.
Cephas chose Penn State Football over Georgia, Pittsburgh and Oregon. Originally a 3-star recruit in high school, Cephas was upgraded to a 4-star when he entered the Transfer portal on December 5th. He is ranked 27th overall in the transfer portal rankings and the portal commitment for Penn State so far this offseason.

Cephas played 9 games for Kent State this past season catching 48 passes for 744 yards and 3 touchdowns. His biggest performance came against Ohio on October 1st where he finished with 13 catches for 246 yards and a touchdown.
While Cephas had a few games missed with injuries last season, in 2021 he played 13 games and caught 82 balls for 1,240 yards and 9 touchdowns. During that 2021 season Cephas went over 100 yards receiving in 6 games and was a reliable threat all year.
This commitment will be a huge addition for young quarterback Drew Allar, as he looks to settle into the starting role in 2023.
Cephas will give another weapon to take the top off the defense and showcase Allar’s arm. Penn State Football returns quality at running back, offensive line, and tight end.
Adding Cephas will help address one of the only question marks for the offense heading into 2023. The momentum heading into next season picks up even more steam.
