Penn State Football Calling for Fans to Attend BOTH Pregame Shows After Calls For FOX Boycott

Penn State Football

Penn State Football took to social media to call on fans to show up to both Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff pregame show and ESPN’s College Gameday pregame show Saturday after calls from fans to boycott the Big Noon Kickoff pregame show.

In a message to fans, Penn State Football announced “CALLING ON NITTANY NATION. We need you to show up & show out at BOTH live shows on Saturday. Let’s show the country we have the BEST fans & atmosphere on 2 national broadcasts.”

Both Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff and ESPN’s College Gameday will be in Happy Valley for the first time together since Big Noon Kickoff started appearing on location full-time in 2022.

ESPN’s College Gameday has been on location for the Penn State Ohio State game a record 13 times in history. Penn State has also hosted Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff four times, including this season when Penn State hosted UCLA in October.

A number of fans have called for a boycott of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff after the decision by Fox to air Penn State’s top five matchup with Ohio State in the noon broadcast slot, instead of allowing Penn State to host its annual whiteout spectacle during a night primetime broadcast.

State College’s family clothesline also made the decision to sell “Big Noon Games Suck” shirts in protest of the network’s choice of kickoff time.

As Penn State’s football program points out in the call to action message, having two national networks on campus presents a big opportunity for Penn State to showcase Happy Valley in a positive light to a national audience.

The game this weekend against Ohio State has the opportunity to be one of the largest crowds in Beaver Stadium history and is the highest-ranked matchup in the stadium since 1999.
