Penn State Football Lands 4 Star Edge Rusher, Tyson Harley

Penn State Football has landed yet another commitment on this Fourth of July weekend, today, Gonzaga Edge Rusher Tyson Harley took to social media to announce his commitment to Penn State.

Harley joins Marlen Bright as the two newest commits for the Nittany Lions in the class of 2026.

Harley marks Penn State Football’s class of 2026 second Edge Rusher. The four-star, ON3 Industry 329th best player in the nation is out of the D.C. area. Harley attends Gonzaga High School, where he is teammates with top 50 Edge Rusher and Michigan commit, Carter Meadows.

The two were together on campus for an official visit the weekend of June 6th

The Competition For Harley

Tyson Harley had a top 5 of Penn State, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Michigan State. He paid each school an official visit and has now landed on Penn State as the school for him.

The 6-3, 220 pounder has had an extremely productive career at Gonzaga. Ultimately, one that has been more productive than that of his counterpart, Carter Meadows. Although Penn State may have not had the toughest competition for Tyson Harley, he is still a very quality pickup, and hey, he doesn’t hurt Penn State’s chances with teammate Carter Meadows.

What’s Next For Penn State Football Recruiting?

After making a big splash with Tyson Harley and Marlen Bright today, Penn State Football 2026 recruiting will seemingly wind down.

Not too many Penn State targets are left to announce their commitment this summer.

So, Penn State will begin to shift their recruiting efforts toward the class of 2027 and pushing to flip some of the big names in the class of 2026. After a tough summer on the recruiting front, Penn State seems to have finished strong and will look to make a push for some flip targets later this fall.
