The 2023 NFL Draft is over, and the six former Penn State Football standouts who were chosen, are hitting the practice fields for their teams all across the country.
From Pittsburgh Steelers second-round pick Joey Porter Jr. to Parker Washington, chosen in the sixth round by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Nittany Lions were well represented throughout draft weekend.
Here’s a look at what jersey number each of the former Penn State Football players will wear for their NFL teams
Joey Porter Jr., CB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Jersey No. 24
Porter Jr. was the highest defensive back ever chosen out of Penn State, going off the board at No. 32 overall to the Steelers, with the first selection of the second-round. Landing with the team his father, legendary linebacker Joey Porter won a Super Bowl ring with, Porter Jr. will likely push for a starting job immediately.

Brenton Strange, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jersey No. 85
Brenton Strange going off the board in the second-round to the Jaguars was one of the bigger surpises of Day 2 of the NFL Draft. Strange lands in arguably an ideal destination, where he’ll likely push for a starting job opposite veteran tight end Evan Engram, in head coach Doug Pederson’s scheme that emphasizes the position in the passing game.
Sean Clifford, QB, Green Bay Packers
Jersey No. 8
Speaking of surprises, few expected former Penn State Football quarterback Sean Clifford to hear his name called at all during the draft. However, after taking a pre-draft top-30 visit to Green Bay, Clifford was chosen No. 149 overall in the fifth-round. Clifford will likely have the opportunity to compete to be Jordan Love’s primary backup.
Parker Washington, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jersey No. 11
The final Penn State player to hear his name called, was former wide receiver Parker Washington. Washington likely was available far later than most expected, due to the fact that he couldn’t workout during the pre-draft process due to an injury. Washington will likely slot behind Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk, and Zay Jones, but could climb the depth chart catching passes from quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Jersey numbers TBD: 49ers S Ji’Ayir Brown, Texans C Juice Scruggs
