Penn State Football leaned on young talent for a lot of their production this season, en route to a 10-2 finish.

This week, ON3 released their True Freshman All-American teams and it featured 2 Penn State Football stars.

Nittany Lions Running back Nick Singleton was chosen to represent one of the two running back slots on the offensive side, while Abdul Carter filled one of the three linebacker spots on the defensive side.

Singleton slashed Big Ten defenses this season with 941 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.

The young back averaged 6.3 yards per carry and topped 100 yards 3 times this season despite splitting carries with Kaytron Allen. While not getting a ton of opportunities, Singleton also had 11 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown. The 10 rushing touchdowns are a freshman record for Penn State Football.

Carter quickly became the most exciting player to watch on the Penn State Football defense this season. After not starting in the beginning of the season, Carter quickly became an integral part of Manny Diaz’s defense.

The freshman finished 2nd on the team with 55 total tackles. Diaz used Carter in plenty of blitz packages, leading to 6.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles.

Both freshmen showed that they can already produce at the power 5 level. There should be plenty of optimism for Penn State fans that these two can take it to the next level and garner All-American status next season.
