B1G Offensive Tackle, Penn State Football Legacy Enters Transfer Portal
Penn State Football has already exercised its demons from recruiting classes past in getting a commitment from former Pennsylvania five-star wide receiver Julian Fleming.
Thursday, another recruiting miss, in Penn State legacy recruit Nolan Rucci, entered the transfer portal from Wisconsin.
Rucci was a major target for the Nittany Lions in the 2021 recruiting class, even being crystal balled to Penn State during the recruiting process by 247Sports for a period of time.
However, despite being a Penn State legacy, by the end of the cycle, Rucci had committed to Wisconsin as Penn State Football failed to secure key commitments in the cycle that saw the Nittany Lions class rank 21st overall.

What would Nolan Rucci Bring Penn State Football?
As a prospect out of high school, Rucci ranked 16th nationally in the 247Sports composite rankings and was the number one overall recruit in Pennsylvania as a five-star prospect.
With both starting tackles Caedan Wallace and Olu Fashanu off to the NFL draft, Penn State is looking in the portal for depth and competition at the position.
Penn State held a commitment from transfer portal offensive tackle Alan Herron for about a week before the division II prospect flipped his commitment to Maryland leaving Penn State without a commitment along the offensive line in the portal this cycle.
According to Wisconsin’s statistics, Rucci played in six games over the past two seasons for the Badgers, and caught a touchdown pass against Illinois this season.
Penn State Football should heavily pursue Rucci to bolster depth at offensive tackle and add another talented former Pennsylvania recruit to Penn State’s 2024 roster.
