Penn State Football Opens as Underdogs in 2 Key Matchups

Penn State Football, James Franklin

Penn State Football enters the 2023 college football season with high expectations, but Las Vegas is bearish on the Nittany Lions in two of the program’s biggest games this fall.

James Franklin‘s squad is still undergoing winter conditioning work and has yet to begin spring or summer practice, but FanDuel Sportsbook has already released early betting lines for Penn State’s fall tilts against Michigan and Ohio State.

With over six months until Penn State Football kicks off the 2023 season, Penn State finds itself as an underdog to both Michigan and Ohio State for the 2023 season.

For the October 21st game against Ohio State in the Horseshoe, The Lions opened as an 8-point underdog.

Meanwhile, for the November 11th game against Michigan in Beaver Stadium, Penn State opened as a 1.5-point underdog.

With over six months for Penn State to work through spring practices, summer camp, and a manageable non-conference slate, Penn State has plenty of time to change Vegas’s mind on both of these games, especially under the leadership of a first year starting quarterback who can be a program changer in Drew Allar.
