No. 14 Penn State Football (3-0) returns home to host Central Michigan (1-2) in Week 4 of the 2022 College Football season, on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at noon inside Beaver Stadium in State College, Pa.

The Nittany Lions made an emphatic statement on the national stage last week, running the Auburn Tigers out of Jordan-Hare Stadium in blowout fashion, 41-12.

Saturday’s contest against Central Michigan represents a chance for Penn State Football to have one final tune up before the gauntlet of Big Ten Conference play resumes.

Here are our staff picks, and predictions, for Penn State Football vs. Central Michigan

Patrick Sweda – Football Writer

The Nittany Lions are coming off of an emotional win at Auburn, so this game is primed for a slow start.

The Chippewas have been a formidable opponent this season, including a tough 58-44 loss to Top-10 Oklahoma State to start the season.

Expect this game to be closer in the first quarter, before the Nittany Lions take control late in the half and run away with it in the second.

Penn State Football should cover the 26.5 in this game, but the over is also a good play with the Chippewas offense proving it can score this season.

The Nittany Lions are 3-0 against the spread and 3-0 with the over so this is becoming a trend that will need to be ridden until proven otherwise.

Prediction: Penn State 52,  Central Michigan 17

Penn State Football got past the first half gauntlet of their schedule unscathed.

Now, the Lions return home to face a Central Michigan squad that is struggling.

The Chippewas do have some playmakers on the offensive side, but the defense has been getting lit up through the first three games.

I expect the Nittany Lions to be able to move the football with ease and cover the -28.0 point spread. Prediction:

Prediction: Penn State 59, Central Michigan 20

Dave Malandra, Football Writer

In any sport, when you come off a very dominating win that Penn State Football had against Auburn, there are tendencies to have a potential letdown.

After Penn State moved up in the rankings, I don’t see a letdown happening, as the defense will pick up where they left off last week and Sean Clifford will have four touchdowns.

Prediction: Penn State 34 Central Michigan 13
