Penn State Lacrosse Screwed by Awful Duke Game-Winning Goal Call, and Twitter EXPLODES
PHILADELPHIA — Penn State Lacrosse saw its season end in heartbreaking fashion, on a controversial game-winning goal by the Duke Blue Devils in the NCAA national semifinals at Lincoln Financial Field.
Duke’s Garrett Leadmon foot was clearly in the crease on the overtime game-winner, sending the Nittany Lions packing, 16-15.
The call was so egregious that the NCAA blocked replies to the account’s tweet announcing the final score.
Penn State Lacrosse fans more than voiced their displeasure on Twitter in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s season-ending overtime loss.
