Former Penn State corner and Pittsburgh Steelers’ rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. came up with a massive interception in the final minutes of Pittsburgh’s game against the Baltimore Ravens Sunday afternoon.
On third and goal with 4:04 left in the fourth Porter Jr. intercepted Lamar Jackson’s pass in the corner of the endzone to give the Steeler’s the ball back in a 10-8 game.
Porter Jr. kept the Ravens from going up two scores in the final minutes of the game with his career interception.
This is the second game of the season where Porter Jr. has come up with late game heroics in his rookie season, after defending a pass to help Pittsburgh seal a 26-22 win in week two against the Cleveland Browns.
Porter Jr. was selected by the Steelers with the first pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft and became the highest Penn State defensive back ever drafted. Porter Jr. was a standout at Penn State and selected as an All-American by numerous outlets in 2022 before he declared for the draft.
