Penn State Football’s offensive line depth was majorly bolstered by the surprising return of Olu Fashanu for his fourth season with the Nittany Lions.
Fashanu got plenty of hype during the 2022 season as he rocketed up mock drafts before sustaining what ended up being a season ending injury in October.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, one scout told ESPN, “I think he would have been the top tackle in this draft and a top-10 pick.”

With Fashanu only turning 20 in December, and working his way back from his injury, Fashanu decided to return to play for Penn State Football in 2023.
This week, the Penn State redshirt junior offensive tackle was named the number eight player in college football for the 2023 season by On3 Sports.
This high praise puts Fashanu with the elite of the elite in college football and continues his hype toward an All American season that ends with his name being called in the top 10 next April for the 2024 NFL draft.
Penn State has not seen an offensive lineman drafted in the first round since Levi Brown was selected fifth overall in 2007, but with another strong season, Fashanu should break that streak with ease next April.

In the meantime, Fashanu looks to have a massive season protecting first year starter Drew Allar’s blindside while leading the most talented offensive line that Penn State has seen under head coach James Franklin.
Penn State Football has high expectations going into the 2023 season, and Olu Fashanu will play a huge role in helping Penn State compete for the Big Ten championship, a playoff appearance, and the National Championship.
