Penn State Football Listed With Top-10 Odds to Win 2024 National Championship

Even though the 2023 season has not even ended yet with Michigan and Washington facing off Monday for the National Championship, it’s not too early to look at the 2024 season according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

In the early futures betting market for the 2024 NCAA National Championship, FanDuel is offering Penn State Football at the 10th highest betting odds to win next season’s national championship, at +2500 and tied with Notre Dame.

Important for Penn State in 2024, the Nittany Lions are listed as the fourth highest odds for a Big Ten team in 2024 behind Ohio State (+700), Michigan (+1000), and Oregon (+1200).

Can Penn State Football Win the 2024 National Championship?

Penn State Football returns most of its offense in 2024 (at this point) in Drew Allar, Nick Singleton, Kaytron Allen, and Tyler Warren, while bringing in transfer portal receiver Julian Fleming from Ohio State.

On the defensive side, Penn State Football has more of a reload heading into 2024, losing at least starters Adisa Isaac, Chop Robinson, Kalen King, Johnny Dixon, Daequan Hardy, and Curtis Jacobs.

With the transfer portal still playing out and Penn State bringing in 16 members of its 2024 class as early enrollees in January, it is still quite early to tell how the team will look next fall, and how other schools around the nation will look after draft declarations and transfer portal pickups and losses.

One thing is for sure, however, that with the playoff expanding to 12 teams next fall, there will be incredibly high expectations placed on James Franklin and the Nittany Lions to break through for their first playoff appearance next season with a ton of junior talent on the roster (See Allar, Singleton, Allen, Dani Dennis Sutton, and Abdul Carter).
