Penn State Football Bolsters Offensive Line as Transfer Offensive Tackle Nolan Rucci Commits

For the second time this winter, Penn State Football picks up a commitment from a former number one player in Pennsylvania out of the transfer portal, this time, offensive lineman Nolan Rucci.

After receiving a commitment from wide receiver Julian Fleming on January 3, Rucci announced his commitment to Penn State Saturday.

Rucci, the son of two former Penn State athletes, was the number one recruit in Pennsylvania and number 16 overall player in the 2021 class, earning heralded five-star status.

After visiting Penn State Football seven times during the recruitment process, Rucci followed his brothers footsteps and committed to Wisconsin. Now, after two years with the Badgers in which he played in six games and caught a touchdown pass, Rucci is back in Pennsylvania and will finally suit up in the basic blues next fall.

With both starting offensive tackles moving on to the NFL draft in Olu Fashanu and Caedan Wallace, Rucci will have the opportunity to immediately challenge for a starting job at tackle.

Drew Shelton should be penciled in as the starter on the left side, but Rucci will challenge redshirt freshmen Anthony Donkoh and Jven Williams for the starting right tackle spot.
