Nick Singleton, Drew Allar Make Major Announcement on their Penn State Football Future
Penn State Football and coach James Franklin were given a major endorsement from two of its top players following the Nittany Lions‘ 42-0 shellacking of Michigan State on Friday evening.
Continuity, consistency, and confidence are key components of creating a well oiled and reliable working machine. And this is no different when it comes to football.
Which makes what both Nick Singleton and Drew Allar said in the post-game press conference that much more important to the future success of Penn State football.
Nick Singleton: “I’m committed. I’m committed to the whole team next year. Coach Franklin, Coach Seider, the whole coaching staff. I’m telling ya, I’m not leaving. I’m staying here.” pic.twitter.com/nW2HZ56zZ7

Penn State QB Drew Allar says he’s committed to the program going forward: “Coach Franklin is a huge influence in my life, not only on the field, but personally, and I've definitely grown a lot since I've stepped on campus.” pic.twitter.com/0XuKyT71ur

What Drew Allar, Nick Singleton Returning Means for Penn State Football
That’s huge.
For all of the opportunities and choices collegiate athletes now have with the transfer portal and NIL deals, it’s paramount for Power Five head coaches to keep their roster as intact as possible going into each season.
That’s not easy when position coaches take promotions elsewhere, or when talented players get prying eyes from other programs, or when you have to relieve an offensive coordinator from their job.
But both Singleton and Allar pledged their support to the Penn State Football program and to James Franklin. And that by itself says a lot about the state of the program and it sends a message to the other players that they’re proud to be a part of the Nittany Lion family.
It also says the future could still be really bright for Penn State as they will most likely be heading to their second straight NY6 bowl game and the schedule for next year is fairly favorable to them competing for a B1G title.
