Penn State Football Recruiting: Meet Elite 2024 Class Targets Visiting Happy Valley This Weekend

Penn State Football is looking to round out its 2024 recruiting class, and will have another opportunity to do so this weekend. The third weekend of the official visit window is upon us and the Nittany Lions will have more big-name recruits making the trip to Happy Valley. This weekend will not nearly have the same star power as last weekend’s visitor list did, but there’s still a handful of recruits from this weekend worth monitoring.

Ranking Top Penn State Football Targets Visiting:

3) 4-star WR Josiah Brown

The Nittany Lions still do not have a wide receiver commit in the 2024 class, despite the class already having 17 members. One of the targets the staff is hoping can change that is 4-star Josiah Brown from New York. Brown officially visited Rutgers earlier this month and has a huge visit to Georgia looming later this month. The Penn State staff will try to prevent that Georgia visit from ever happening this weekend. Either way, Penn State Football needs to put itself in the lead for Brown this weekend.

2) 4-star OT Ethan Calloway

Penn State Football has just one spot remaining for an offensive lineman in the 2024 class.

A candidate to claim that last spot is 4-star offensive tackle Ethan Calloway from North Carolina.

He will be on campus this weekend after taking trips to Georgia and Florida, he also has a trip to LSU lined up next week. The competition is legit here, but if Calloway gets blown away on his visit, the staff can put on some pressure for him to grab that last spot.

1) 4-star DT Benedict Umeh

Speaking of positions that could run out of room soon, defensive tackle spots could start filling up.

The Nittany Lions landed a commit from Xavier Gilliam a couple weeks back and then hosted top targets Liam Andrews and Amaris Williams. Now another 4-star defensive tackle, Benedict Umeh from Connecticut, will make the journey to Penn State.

He’s already visited Duke and Wisconsin and has a trip to Stanford scheduled. This weekend could be the chance for the staff to seal things up here.
