Not quite the White Out, and not a stripe out, Penn State Football opens the 2023 regular season against West Virginia in the program’s annual ‘Helmet Stripe” game inside Beaver Stadium.
While the game also marks the debut of NBC’s prime time coverage of the Big Ten, Penn State fans will play a starring role by nearly whiting out Beaver Stadium.
When Drew Allar, Nick Singleton, Abdul Carter, and the rest of the Nittany Lions storm through the tunnel, it’s expected to be a raucous atmosphere greeting a program that opens the campaign with legitimate College Football Playoff and Big Ten Championship aspirations.

Fans sitting in all but two of Beaver Stadium’s sections are encouraged to wear white, with those two sections at midfield asked to wear blue to create the image of the stadium looking like one big iconic Penn State Football helmet.
