Former Penn State Standout DE on the Move to Super Bowl Favorite

After 55 games over four seasons with the Carolina Panthers, including 32 starts, former Penn State Football defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos has signed with the San Fransisco 49ers on a two-year, $18 million deal according to Ian Rapoport.

After declaring for the 2020 NFL draft after his junior season at Penn State, Gross-Matos was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2020 draft, 38th overall. In four seasons with the Carolina Panthers, Gross-Matos racked up 142 tackles, 30 quarterback hits, 19 tackles for a loss, 13 sacks, four fumble recoveries, and two forced fumbles.

Before his selection in the 2020 NFL draft, Gross-Matos was a standout at Penn State at defensive end, accumulating 36.5 tackles for a loss and 18.5 sacks over three seasons with the Nittany Lions.

Gross-Matos will join former Penn State Football stars Ji’Ayir Brown and Kevin Givens on the San Fransisco 49ers defense. For the 2024 season, San Fransisco currently holds the highest title odds at +500 to win the Super Bowl next season.
