Saquon Barkley Signing Draws Bizarre Reaction From Giants Legend

Former Penn State and New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles Monday, wrapping up his first stint in free agency by returning home to Pennsylvania.

Although the New York Giants didn’t even offer Barkley a contract, one Giants legend had a bizarre reaction to the news that Saquon would be signing with Philadelphia.

On WFAN radio Monday, legendary New York Giants running back Tiki Barber expressed his displeasure with Barkley signing with the Eagles saying “You’re dead to us, Saquon. Good luck. You’re dead to me.”

The ten-year New York Giants veteran spoke about the rumors of Barkley heading to Philadelphia earlier this week again on WFAN radio, calling it “insulting to his Giant history and legacy.”

Barber continued that if Barkley signed with Philadelphia, all the admiration and respect that the New York Giants fanbase had for Barkley would be lost. Well, it seems like Barber kept true to his statements earlier this week now that Barkley has signed with Philadelphia.

With Philadelphia and New York in the same division, Barkley will have the opportunity to play the Giants twice per season moving forward.
