Is Penn State Football about to land two elite defenders?

Penn State Football already has 22 commits in its 2024 recruiting class, but the Nittany Lions aren’t done landing top talent just yet.

Defensive tackle is a position that could use an improvement when it comes to recruiting. First year defensive line coach Deion Barnes may be on his way to doing just that though.

The Nittany Lions seem to be in strong position with two highly rated defensive tackle recruits.

Penn State Football Recruiting: Top Defensive Tackle Targets

The first is top 100 recruit Liam Andrews from Massachusetts.

Andrews is the top remaining target out there for Penn State in the 2024 cycle and would be a massive addition.

The 6-foot-5, 260 pounder has not announced any intentions to commit, but did recently pick up a crystal ball in favor of the Nittany Lions from 247 Sports recruiting analysist Brian Dohn.

Dohn’s predictions have a 98.70% accuracy rate in the 2024 class, so this is certainly an eye raiser.

Good news could be on the way soon.

The other notable defensive tackle target is 4-star T.A. Cunningham from Florida.

The 6-foot-5, 265 pounder took an official visit to Happy Valley back in June, but then his recruitment went quiet. That is no longer the case as Cunningham released a top five schools list on Friday and Penn State Football made the cut.

Cunningham also announced that he will make his decision on July 22.

The Nittany Lions are battling the likes of Miami, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Michigan for Cunningham, but Miami looks like the biggest threat.

The next month could be big for Barnes and Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class.
