Penn State Football received as major commitment over the weekend from 4-star defensive end Mylachi Williams, and the newest Nittany Lions’ addition is already shooting up the recruiting rankings.

On Monday, On3 updated its 2024 class rankings, and Williams was one of the biggest risers in the class.
Williams went from the No. 205 player in the class to the No. 79 ranked player in this latest update. The lone edge rusher in Penn State’s 2024 class is now a top 100 player.
This is a massive get for first-year defensive line coach Deion Barnes.

Penn State Football Commits On The Rise in New Rankings
Barnes isn’t the only coach who saw a future player make a big jump in the rankings.
Phil Trautwein is bringing in one of the best offensive tackles in the country in 4-star Garrett Sexton.
Sexton moved from the No. 112 player in the nation to No. 44. He is now the highest ranked player in the class for Penn State Football according to On3.
To round out the big risers, there’s no surprise to see quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer receive a big bump as well.
Grunkemeyer received a ranking boost from both 247 Sports and ESPN after his strong performance at the Elite 11 Final back in June. On3 now joins the other two recruiting services in acknowledging Grunkemeyer’s talent.
Penn State’s 2024 class now has 22 commits and ranks eighth in the On3 national rankings.
The Nittany Lions are going for their third straight top 15 recruiting class, which would be huge for head coach James Franklin and the program.
