One day after 25 members of Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class put pen to paper the Nittany Lions picked up an in-state 2025 cornerback commitment from Xxavier Thomas.
Thomas committed to Penn State Football via X (formerly Twitter), announcing “After an amazing and memorable recruitment process, I’m excited to announce that I am 100% committed.”

Hailing from Pittsburgh’s Central Catholic high school, Thomas is a teammate of 2024 signees Peter Gonzalez and Anthony Speca.
Thomas, an unranked recruit in the 2024 class, committed to Penn State Football the same day he received an offer from the Nittany Lions after unofficially visiting State College three times this fall.
At the moment, Thomas only reports one other offer, from former Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead at Akron.
The 5-foot-10 inch junior recorded four interceptions and 22 tackles in 2022 and ranked 31st in the state of Pennsylvania in punt return average (17.8 yards per return), via Max Preps.
Thomas is the seventh member of Penn State’s 2025 class that ranks eight nationally after Thomas’ commitment. The in-state cornerback joins New Jersey’s Omari Gaines as the two cornerback commits for Penn State in the 2025 cycle.
